Founder and Clinical Director

Meet Dr. Ashar

An experienced physician connecting sleep, mental health, lifestyle, cognitive concerns, and whole-person medical care.

Section 1

Care should begin with time, attention, and a complete history

“A diagnosis is important, but it is not the complete story. Good care begins by listening carefully, understanding the patient’s daily life, and explaining why each recommendation is being made.”

Dr. Ashar founded Healing Lifestyle Medicine for patients who feel that their symptoms have been divided among separate appointments, specialties, and recommendations. His goal is to understand how the major parts of a patient’s health may be interacting and to create a clearer, coordinated next step.

Section 2

Expertise and Credentials

Board-certified in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine; certified in Lifestyle Medicine by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.

CLINICAL FOCUS // 01

Psychiatry and Emotional Health

Evaluation of mood, anxiety, emotional symptoms, medication history, and the relationship between mental and physical health.

CLINICAL FOCUS // 02

Sleep Medicine

Assessment of insomnia, sleep quality, daytime fatigue, circadian patterns, and possible sleep-related breathing concerns.

CLINICAL FOCUS // 03

Lifestyle Medicine

Evidence-informed use of nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and sustainable habits within medical care.

CLINICAL FOCUS // 04

Integrative Medical Evaluation

Careful consideration of conventional treatment, complementary approaches, medications, supplements, safety, and coordination with existing providers.

Section 3

A more coordinated model of care

Patients with fatigue, poor sleep, anxiety, brain fog, or metabolic concerns often receive separate recommendations for symptoms that may influence one another. Healing Lifestyle Medicine was created to give these patients a physician-led place to organize the complete picture and decide what deserves attention first.

PILLAR // 01

More time to explain your story

The consultation should allow enough time to understand your symptoms, treatment history, concerns, and goals.

PILLAR // 02

One physician connecting the information

Sleep, mental health, medications, lifestyle, and metabolic concerns are reviewed together rather than as unrelated files.

PILLAR // 03

Clear explanations

Each recommendation should include the clinical reason, intended purpose, possible limitations, and what happens next.

PILLAR // 04

Collaboration, not replacement

When appropriate, the clinic may coordinate with your primary care physician, therapist, specialist, or other healthcare professional.

Section 4

The patient remains part of every decision

PRINCIPLE // 01

Listen before recommending.

PRINCIPLE // 02

Evaluate connected concerns together.

PRINCIPLE // 03

Use testing only when it answers a meaningful clinical question.

PRINCIPLE // 04

Explain medications, lifestyle recommendations, and referrals clearly.

PRINCIPLE // 05

Respect the patient’s values, preferences, and existing care relationships.

PRINCIPLE // 06

Adjust the plan as new information and progress become available.

Section 5 — Faith-Sensitive Care When Requested

Making room for faith and values

For patients who request it, Dr. Ashar can consider Islamic values, spiritual concerns, family, and cultural context within clinically appropriate mental healthcare. Faith integration is optional and should never be assumed or forced.

Section 6

What Patients Can Expect

A transparent, reassuring clinical journey designed around your time and wellbeing.

EXPECTATION // 01

You will be heard

The visit begins with your concerns, history, and goals rather than a preset treatment package.

EXPECTATION // 02

You will not be expected to choose the right specialty

The clinic can help determine whether sleep, mental health, lifestyle, medical, or other evaluation is the appropriate starting point.

EXPECTATION // 03

Recommendations will be explained

You should understand what is being recommended, why it may help, what it cannot promise, and what alternatives may exist.

EXPECTATION // 04

Your care can remain collaborative

With your permission, relevant information may be coordinated with other clinicians when appropriate.
